I made a bed of alfalfa sprouts
at the bottom of a cereal bowl,
added a small mound of cottage cheese
right in the centre
and cut wedges from half a pear,
so small and green,
and arranged them around the edge.
Next came rounds of yellow zucchini,
placed between the pear pieces,
then segments from a tangerine.
I concocted a dressing
of Keene's mustard and relish,
a mustardy sort of condiment,
mixed with leftover cottage cheese.
This was all I had
and I was pleased to be inventive.
It looks like autumn, I thought,
and ate it, forgetting what it looked like.
Author notes
Hope you don't mind a second submission. This turned out to be such a great salad for one that I wanted to share it.
No Greens though lettuce could be used for the base.

Sounds Yummy For My Tummy
Hi Judy - I am a bit of an inventor with foods as well - I may just try this salad - I make a salad of sliced cooked potatoes and cooked kholrabi with sliced fresh garlic and slices of onion and red pepper - oil and vinegar and some water - salt and pepper let it sit overnight - Bless God - Joe ----------------- hagd

looking like autumn sounds appetizing / this is an inventive one - I shall have to try it. Thanks! (I like horseradish with cottage cheese.)
By the way, I will reopen this for multiple submissions because I don't think I had it set for that, in case you other submission was booted out. Afterall, the more salads, the merrier!
