The Lord is my shepherd
and he knows my need
and when I am hungry
my soul he shall feed
The shepherd I'll follow
in pastures green
When I am thirsty
he gives waters serene
When I am wandering
he restores my soul
he leads me on
to a righteous goal
When darkness looms
and clouds my eyes
and evil prowls
beneath darkened skies
I feel his presence
with staff and rod
for he is a loving
and caring God
He prepares me a table
in enemies lands
He anoints my head
with his gentle hands
Ever my cup
shall over flow
I've goodness and mercy
wherever I go
When life is done
the Bible does tell
in the shepherd's house
I'll always dwell

I have always loved the 23rd Psalm. I think few passages sum up the nature of our relationship with God. He is shepherd and we are sheep

Just Beautiful
Oh how I loved this poem. It is so beautiful our Shepherd. Aren't we so lucky that we have a Savior. I know I am a dum sheep sometimes and He always waits for me!! Your poetry flows so nicely. I liked how you rhymed in this poem. I love the 23rd Psalm too. Thank you for sharing with me.
