Pretty little china doll
just a working class princess
nothing special
but pale ivory skin and raven hair
turning tricks for the tiny working men
that come marching by
with their day’s wages.
A leech on a street corner
looking slightly un-pretty
spreading her infirmity
to the interested passers by.
Victim of self inflicted circumstance,
poisoned,
by the loathsome dope
she buys every day.
Another hooker dies a paupers death
and once again no one cares
except her drug dealer
who mourns his good customer.

This was a very interesting spin on the Snow White story. I loved the reference to the white snow of cocaine and how it can turn a princess into a pauper on the street corner. Good luck in this contest. Peace, Liz
