Braving the Storm

Missing image

tossed in waters of adversity
forced to either sink or swim,
optimism holds survivor's life preserver
tempting endurance to grab hold,

soul; submerged deeply in despair
while faith surges upon hope's shore,
drowning thunder of one's affliction
casting sunlight onto distressed horizons.

perseverance floods defiance
as determination calms troubled seas.
