My brother Sam died of lung cancer in 1999.
The year before he died, he planted in my
garden a rose bush that comes up every summer.
I have the most beautiful roses that last all
summer long. Each year at the last rose on the
bush dies on Oct 29th, the same day my brother
dies on. It maybe hard to believe, but this is
the honest truth.

That just shows that your brother is telling you he can still see you and feel you. They are going to join him, if you will. Very beautiful and heartfelt. Such a comfort from such a tragedy. The light will always find its way through the dark.

I have a rose bush that the first time I get a bud on it is in Sept. or Oct. Late bloomer, yes, but I think I know why that happens. Just can't say here. It is the most amazing thing I have ever seen.
This is beyond words! What a great write for this contest! You are right, it is a kinda crazy, but things like that do happen, and it does comfort us in some small, if yet crazy way!
