Let us each hear, as it is our choice,
the deep Love that is Your Voice
as It sings out, now loud, now soft...
And keep our tender hopes ever aloft
in the still beauty of Your Eye...
Like Job, let us each learn
it's not our scope to discern
the meaning behind Your might...
Let us simply behold the Light
that answers the pain filled question, "Why?"
Your rod and Your staff push us along
from beyond our sense of right or wrong
as You guide us through this Life we live,
showing the way that we might give
the joyous bounty of Your Love.
Let every heart go out in care
and compassion, not in fear,
accepting what is Your will to Be.
With open hearts and eyes let us see
the loving Light that filters from above...
Despite the plight, let us understand
we each dwell safely in Your loving hand...
Now and forever
the deep Love that is Your Voice
as It sings out, now loud, now soft...
And keep our tender hopes ever aloft
in the still beauty of Your Eye...
Like Job, let us each learn
it's not our scope to discern
the meaning behind Your might...
Let us simply behold the Light
that answers the pain filled question, "Why?"
Your rod and Your staff push us along
from beyond our sense of right or wrong
as You guide us through this Life we live,
showing the way that we might give
the joyous bounty of Your Love.
Let every heart go out in care
and compassion, not in fear,
accepting what is Your will to Be.
With open hearts and eyes let us see
the loving Light that filters from above...
Despite the plight, let us understand
we each dwell safely in Your loving hand...
Now and forever

Amazing
felt a bit of freedom in your words
to accept without question is to obtain God's grace. how blessed are we my friend
to be in His divine presence simple by making a space for Him.
magical beauty here, I truly enjoyed
God bless you my friend...

a soft plea and heartfelt prayer is this wonderful piece of literature. a keen sense as to the deep need of man for the mighty hand of God. I wonder as to whether or not your heart has prayed this prayer on numerous occasions. I must admit that I have found myself praying similarly in the quiet of the night and the stillness of loneliness.

Very NIce....
He can and will calm the storms, after all he created them to begin with ...This was a very nice poem honoring the God of the universe...Knowing he has a master plan and we may not always understand, he brings all things together for our good. Thanks fr sharing your praise with us. Exellently written!!!~~Toni~~

What an uplifting and inspirational piece! Absolutely beautiful! I was particularly captivated by:
Your rod and Your staff push us along
from beyond our sense of right or wrong
Good luck in the contest! Well done!!

S'not bad
It's so hard to do a prayerful poem that doesn't end up just... well, sounding trite, or overdone. But there's a simple, straightforward honesty to this that appeals to me.

Love The Rhythm !!

-
I really liked this poem... it made me smile at the end... great job!

what a gracefully gentle, yet powerful verse ...
a prayer that goes far beyond "begging for favour", as we might sometimes understand it ...
reading your words has been a humbling experience, and a welcome invitation to surrender to divine will ...
I realize that I understand the necessity to surrender intellectually, but have not integrated it yet into the very depth of each body-cell ...
you just pushed the sensitive buttons, pointing at the knots of resistance that are still present ...
thank you from my deepest heart for this truly touching and heartfelt prayer ... this was exactly what I was hoping for ... and I agree with you, we might not be able to act on appeasing the hurricanes "outside", but definitely have an impact on the hurricanes of anger within us ... and that's where it all starts ... and ends ...

As within, so without
Thank you, li'l sister, and you're welcome. I have long been confirmed in affirmative prayer, though this one takes a passive approach to that affirmation. We all have a way to go in finding the freedom of accepting What Is because we remember Who We Are. I'm glad these words have helped in your awakening journey, as your contest has helped me in my own path by inspiring their expression.
Be ever bright,
Rahad

Very well done,
you set our fears in the proper perspective. I enjoyed your rhymes, this is a lovely prayer and a sweet poem.

Thanks, Margaret. I don't know how well this fits as an appeasement to the hurricanes, but it does express how I see our fears being appeased.
Peace and blessings,

Beautiful
I can feel the gentleness in these words and appreciate the way you express your faith in a loving God, especially in the last line: "Despite the plight, let us understand we each dwell safely in Your loving hand..." -
-
Thanks. I'm glad this touched you. I tried to do the chat but, not being a frequent chatter and not knowing this chat program at all, I think I bothched it. Yes, faith in the Goodness of Being is something I'm learning to embody and express as deeply as I might. That faith is the key to the "peace beyond all understanding".
Peace and blessings,
Rahad
