Prayer for the Wind and Waves

O Lord of earth and sea,

We humbly call to Thee,
Have mercy on the people of New Orleans,
Calm the storms that threaten to engulf their country.

Lord Jesus, You stilled the waters of Lake Galilee,
When the terrified disciples thought that they would drown;
When they called out to You,

You rebuked the wind and the waves.

Please do it again, Lord, save these people,
Help them to trust in You, Almighty God,

We pray.

Amen

    your sincere and heartfelt prayer really touches me ... these are words springing from an innocent heart, filled with faith and compassion ...
    there is nothing more wonderful than a selfless prayer in favour of other beings in despair ... it unites and shows us that their pain is our pain, in reality ... their tears flow through us, and are offered at the feet of the most Holy One ...
    I thank you so much for your precious participation in this contest,
    may your blessings and thoughts of compassion return to you a thousandfold,
    maa

      Thank you

      Thank you for your comment - the path of the storm actually crossed further to the west than forecast, and hopefully the storm defences held most of the water back. Praise God!
