Unconditional Love and Betrothal (Hosea 2:14-23)

Missing image
Having a home and love was provided
Everything I needed was is in you
Protection and care right from above
Loyal and such a friend true!

Restless and a wanderer
I kept roaming away
Away from your love
I never would stay.

You kept coming after me
Though I would roam
Saying "Come home, dear one
Your place is at home"

Proving your love
By buying me back
From those who owned me
There was no lack

In what you would pay
To have me again.
Loving me tenderly
As if saying "When?"

How many times you came
After me so caring
Pleading and forgiving
Your love ever sharing!

When one bright day
As if just waking
From a dream to reality
Decisions I'm making

Real love was here
Faithful and true
All the while dear
My true love was YOU!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Lord and Savior
How could I doubt your love?
Always there, like the air I breathe
Your Spirit's presence from above
Brought the Word of God so alive
To my heart as if written for me alone
Just when I needed assurance
Your words found my heart as your home!
The Scripture mentioned in the title is what I read twenty years ago..I was at the farm, and there it was as I read one afternoon. It was like God's love letter to me. He would allure me and speak tenderly to my heart..He would give the valley of Troubling to be a door of Hope. He would betroth me to Him forever. In steadfast love and in faithfulness I would know the Lord.
Hosea the prophet was asked to marry a "woman of the street" as a sign of what Israel's condition was at that time..And he repeatedly went after her until one day she
came to live with him as she was in the first place realizing love was there not elsewhere.
There was a covenant between Israel and her God. It was never to be broken.
The message for me was the covenant God has with those who believe in Him as their Saviour. It was never to be broken.
We can do so many things for the Lord, but do we remember how much He loves us?
The revelation of His great love helps us receive it and then give it out to others..As His grace has touched our lives, His grace working through us will touch others by His love!
It was hard for me to share this as this is very personal to me, but I hope it has blessed hearts who read.
The loving relationship that the Lord has with us. How often we take it for granted, or forget!
    Dear Rend...I wanted to share in this poem, the great love that God has for us all. He is faithful and true to us, and never stops loving us. Knowing His love for us helps us to love ourselves and then others...the greatest truth.
