You often played with my memory
Yet I remembered you so well
Fooling around on this unmade bed
On the thirty-first floor of the Park Central Hotel
It was just a game we could never complete
As we danced through the night of our lives
The limo's were all parked down in the street
It was money for flesh was how we survived
I suppose some could called it love
Although I was never convinced
It sounded more like something out of a song
Where the tears and the goodbyes were succinct
I remember so well the day we said goodbye
You were climbing up towards the stars
Your career was something that took first place
I suppose that's why I wear all your scars
You told me over and over how I didn't fit
Into your scheme so you left me alone
And though beauty is only skin deep
You said ugly was down to the bone
And while you were ready for your next fix
I was the one who loved you the best
Now I'm just a memory you once deposed
You left me like all the rest
You never really ever treated me that well
So farewell from the heights of the Park Central Hotel...

Thank you for your entry in the final contest of the series. Another excellent poem from you, some good rhyme, but the flow is a little erratic. Thank you also for being a regular entrant in most of the series.
All the best and please join us in future contests that we may run for rhyming poetry.
