she coiled into a soft still life:
Cat Upon A Piano
absent
-- in dreams spun
from sound
and sun --
she roams free
over hedge and tree
and right across the midnight sky
now motionless
agile aloofness hides
behind closed eyes
she is unaware of my stare
even asleep
she mesmerizes me
with her powerful air
of silence
.

'she coiled into a soft still life:' - Fantastic intro, I love it!
'Cat Upon A Piano' - Has a very classical and homely feel.
How can one not admire their independent and mysterious feline world?
I agree with your admiration, finding in them a quality of free spirit, aloof to those caught up in the troublesome world of paraphernalia.
And yes, as well as having ample ability for their concerns, when they stop to rest, they really know how to 'stop' in this silence many of us could learn to benefit much from.
I am greatly impressed, finding much admiration for such an eloquent and tasty write as this, which captures its sentiment purrr' fectly... (so sorry, very cheap but I still couldn't resist).
It does have a feel of perfection about it, just as your cat does.
I have met some cats which I haven't liked and have always been amazed at how different their presence of character can feel.
Anyway I muchly like yours and enjoyed it very much, even though I've been hoping to find something more in the way of 'teeth' in this contest.
Thank you very much for such a complete and lovely write...
which I find to be no less than excellent!

Your words are as a soft whispering and a grand melody entwined into a single entity-- a cat. I like it!
