Detached

She's packing for her destiny
with starlights in her eyes.
I know I have to let her go,
so I smile past these tears
that rise.

She has places she must go
and she's ready to begin.
I hope I can still be waiting
here when that girl's
adventure ends.

Although she knows it breaks
my heart, this is something
she must do. So I tell my girl,
"Goodbye, baby I love you."

One day I hope she comes back
home, so I can kiss her face.
Maybe then two seperate futures
can find their way back to
just one place.

Can you feel my pulse?

Wow. I loved seeing your vulnerable side. This poem packed such emotion in one small punch.

The first two lines are brilliant & pulled me in, mezmerized.

    Very deep, very emotional.

    Amazing write.

Now, I think it just went from lust to love. Lol.

Wow. I can understand how this would feel. My boyfriend is leaving for the Navy, and I'm torn up. I'm trying to accept the fact that it's something he wants to do, and needs to do, but it doesn't change the fact that I'll be devestated when he leaves.

You've captured some very nice thoughts here. Its sweet to think someone would wish you so well when you spread your wings and fly away.
