What is A Wife?
A wife is someone who;
With gentle words, soothes a burning heart,
With a solitary touch takes away a pain that lingers
And who with a constant stare, piercing through reason’s glow,
Shows a man there is nothing feared
that will not birth a brighter light between two hearts.
And so important the feelings within myself of pride & hope
That arrive so strong at the thought of calling you “My Wife”.
Feelings so familiar & comforting as to cause me to fall in love with you
everyday when I say “I love you, Ashleigh”
At last I have found a love, this everlasting tie
That assures a lost soul of his own worthy attention
Of self & of an idea that greatness can be achieved each day, with another.
A greatness only commended by complete surrender.
Surrender of a selfish mind by nature to a love so pure & so rare.
Ashleigh, you are my reason. You are my trust.
You are all of the love in this Burning Man’s heart.
You are my best friend, my partner, my lover,
& now won’t you be my wife?
