The concrete I lay on,
Thinking of you as usual,
Seems to warm at the very thought of you,
And yet I still feel so cold.
It has been so long,
Since you've held me in your embrace,
And as the days go by I still wonder,
What I could've done.
Were his kisses as sweet,
As the ones I left on your cheek?
And were his midnight whispers,
Just as comforting as mine?
When everyone else left you,
Did he hold you in his embrace,
And protect you from everything,
Even if it cost him his life?
And when he left you for another,
Did you think of me,
And my sweet kisses?
My midnight whispers?
Now that you're all alone,
You want me back,
And I want you too,
But I can't take you baby.
You wanted his kisses,
That have left that bittersweet taste,
You wanted his midnight whispers,
That echo lonliness in the dark now.
I once loved you,
And gave you my all,
But you stomped on it,
Like a tiny bug.
I can't let that happen again,
I can't take you back in my embrace,
Because your kisses are now bittersweet,
And I can't hear your midnight whispers anymore.

Right away I could tell you had a confident voice in this poem and I really liked that.
The first stanza made me want to read more and more.
I loved how you said-
"Seems to warm at the very thought of you,
And yet I still feel so cold." -
