Her rose-red lips sink through the skin,
And taste the apple sweet,
And sudden pain comes rushing in,
Her torment is complete.
An icy breeze begins to blow
As she falls to the floor,
Her pallid breast does gently heave,
She rests on death’s cold shore.
The metal cross upon her neck
Burns like the demon’s ice;
A tribute to her good, sweet heart,
That will now pay the price.
Her lips, stained by the apple’s juice,
Do softly quiver now,
As though longing for that sweet kiss
Her true love to avow.
But ‘til that time she has been locked
In gilded cage of dark,
Caught in slimy sea-snake’s lair,
The dark ship to embark.
She’ll raise her shining beacon white,
A tribute to her skin,
The pressing evil she will fight,
Her torment will begin.

Strong imagery here that carries the flow of the story. A good response to the prompt picture.

AAH! Wow! Again, beautiful stuff, forceful ending, brings the whole thing together. The rhyme was beautiful, in fact everything in this poem is. Not more to say.. just brilliant.
