In a world of darkness,
Evil and hatred,
Anger and wrath,
Sadness and agony,
All mixed together,
Forming worst.
Nothing penetrates the
Rolling, gathering, blackening
Storm clouds, that send endless rain,
Drenching the world in a gloomy atmoshpere.
All light has been blacked out,
Turned off, and destroyed.
All hope has been lost,
Faith has been ravaged.
But there is one light left,
One light left in the darkness.
It struggles to penetrate the stormy clouds.
But when it does, the world shines with its light,
Refreshed and renewed.
Life dances for joy,
The birds begin to sing.
The light sparkles with happiness,
And shines brighter than ever before.
All darkness is gone, all evil destroyed,
And life is restored to its full potential.

This is amazing. I love how this played out, dear poet. It is so full of imagery. Best of luck in the contest.

Unfortunatly I could not view the picture because of the link but that didn't really matter as you created a beautiful image using your words. I loved the way you started off describing the darkness, you made it seem bleak and unpromising. I thought the twist of bringing it the light injected a lovely feeling of hope to the piece as well as creating a wonderful image. The final stanza was a wonderful ending, it was so nice to read something so positive that still recognises the tough times we all face. Great work x

Very well written. I love that fact that the light triumphs over the darkness- which is in fact what really does happen in real life. God (light) always triumphs over Satan (darkness). Thanks for putting it so well.
