To someone for their birthday,
we send a card or note.
A simple saying wrapped in glitter,
with a special antidote.
Sometimes there are not the words,
to express our gratitude.
A simple thanks is not enough,
without being harsh or rude.
This man served his country,
fought so we could have out rights.
He stood his ground, nary a sound
so we sleep, right through our nights.
So to this Texas gentleman,
I write this little song.
In hopes that he will understand
when others do him wrong.
This country says they love their soldiers,
so we make them stand in line.
I think we all should do more,
for they have been so kind.
So Sir, for your birthday,
I said a little prayer.
I asked God to reward you,
for what you did over-there.
Then I send you this poem,
Hoping that you will see.
That I think you're a special man,
and you mean the world to me!
Happy Birthday! Hope you see many more!

Woot

This piece tugged hard at Spirit and while I was reading which I do several times~ Images come to me in many forms~ while taking in Your words: A simple thanks is not enough...
When I read this, reminded me of all those who served our country- fought alongside P.N. also before and after his military service- In addition to individuals who are influenced in some way shape or form within our everyday lives byt the sacrifice that was and still is made to this day
Love how You penned from within with well wishes to bring forth a smile
I imagine P.N. smiling from ear to ear. You weaved a tight rhyme also
Excellent images & message You have brought forth

Thank You for sharing Your Heart and Spirit!
Best wishes to You in the contest Sweet Soul
**Judging will be done shortly...
Many blessings too
and much love & light~ Desire~*~
