Granny Decided To Live For A Change

Oh so prim and proper she was,
she was perfect in the worlds eyes.
Happy and loving she never did cuss,
but Granny decided to live tonight.

All the things she always wanted to do,
Granny did it all and left out not one muse.
She danced until the sun rose oh not by herself,
Granny took up with a gentleman of some wealth.

Makeup and fancy clothes
she was truly up town,
and for the evening she was the
lady about and granny got around.
Everyone was appauled for
it just wasnt the lady they knew,
But Granny was tired of listening to others
she had things she wanted to do.

Life is short and well Granny
had been left behind ,
no one ever asked Granny
what she would like.
She always made sure everyone
was happy and on their way,
but today was truly Grannies day.

The moment she passed
we could not believe,
Granny passed with a smile
and in her eyes such a gleam.
Rosy cheeks and even a pink flush
to her face we did see ,
now I wonder what Granny would have done
before her passing to feel  such  glee.

Author notes

Its crazy I know but I also know their are many grannies out there that has been held back and left out of so much enjoyment for their men would rather have sat in a chair and watched sports or read a book they should all be ashamed of themselves.

Amen sister!! I am one of those grannies!!! Although it isn't because my husband is into sports, he's just exhausted by Friday evening, plus money is tight. LOL
This is an awesome tribute to grannies everywhere.
    Good luck in the contest....

i agree with bob! thinking back to my own grandmothers, i don't recall such restrictions ~ but i do understand many do live sheltered and held back. life is for living, let's all go out with a smile!
