eyes swallow the sky
like sapphire wine; poured
from a chalice of clouds, to
skip along moon-washed skin
cadent glissandos
to the chorale of passion
lips unfurl
breath splashed
in pearled beams
against the thin adagio of midnight sun
in the vein of alabaster petals;
wet with light, and
blessed in virgin blush -
I blossom
at the spiral of your touch
leaves curled in communion
awaiting crescendo
and;
in the soon-after of your gaze -
I am
but a single note
amidst a sonatina
of stars
beneath the silver halo
of moon

you possess a remarkably elegant tonality in your writing and this is a prime example of it ... the picture you've been inspired by is a lovely flower, so vivid one can almost smell its fragrance ... congratulations on winning the bronze trophy in Nicolette's contest ...

How utterly humbling. Puts us in perspective in the most elegant of ways. So very very pleased to see a trophy adorn this gem. Worthy of award and so much more.
An orchestra of life all wrapped up on the soft beauty of calla
Ahhhh. I enjoyed this so much.

This poem is an orchastra! A symphony! For a contest hosted by Nicolette, you hit the mark, and raised the bar. I am anxious to read the Silver & Gold in this contest if this beauty won Bronze. Congratulations!

You knew I would love this, didn't you, Mary
. So beautiful this is... simply loved the title "calla cavatina" - why didn't I think of that?? Wonderful music you've made here! Reading this is to wrap oneself in a moonwhite sensuality and to drink from this chalice of words, metaphors, vocabulary, etc. Loved the closing lines, simply loved it. A unique piece of writing - beautiful and so elegantly sensual. Thank you for sharing this with us in the contest.

mrs eros, or shall i rather say - eros' mistress? whichever way, your subtle erotica is magnificent, daring to use the "virgin blush" after a life of lust - what a daunting exercise in expressing the genesis of each and every time "it" happens and making it unique, primal. sensual, beautiful poetry of the senses

this is strange that this is for Nic's contest...I was just going to say that there are only three poets on the site that use language in a way that soothes me so...yourself, Nic, and Wanda
The elegance that the three of you offer to the page reminds me of Neruda.
Although, each with their own distinct personality.
I have always thought of it as Pure Poetry
beautiful my friend
best wishes

The dance, the music
It all leads to the magic and you cast the net of your spell so well. It would be easy to become lost in the dance of your words with passions stowed in every sylllable. But for those whom the blood beats hot, your words are but the clarion promise of our own rich appetites.
Love,
Tom B.

Can Someone Say Amazing!
Holy-Smokes Sis!
You amaze me with your true poetic talent. You
the socks off this piece, and I'd sure hate to go up against a master of words such as yourself, and I might add, how you display it on a page is most impressive, and the flow is beautiful sweet soul.
All the best is here, bravo, and know I send my love.
