I travel all around this city
with its different foods
from different lands,
and feel compelled
to sample as many as I can.
At Dundas West one day,
on the way to a cybercafe
I picked up takeout salad,
potato with carrots and peas,
the European way.
I ate it at the computer.
It was so delicious,
simply the best potato salad
that I have ever tasted.
I believe a lot of mayo
went into the making of it.
A few days later,
I went around the corner
at High Park and Bloor
in quest of coffee.
I discovered a Polish deli
and became a regular
for the next few days.
Their coffee is not that good
but they make that same salad
and it was very tasty
but needed more mayo.
Incidentally, their jelly donuts
are out of this world
and made the coffee go down well.
They have a choice of plum jam
or strawberry. I had to try both.
None of this was heavy on nutrition,
but that never gets on the way
of my tasty travels.

Sounds delicious my late husband loved jelly donuts, but always made a mess. LOL (fond memory) Potato salad is made so many ways. I make mine with sour cream, mayo, and Italian dressing. Good write.
