Gateway Lovers

In the safety of my lap,
embracing with a lovers familiarity;
like a concert I gently caress
the keys to open our unique union.

Slowly,you come alive with a soft hum;
warmth from your body electrifying mine,
as I gaze upon your illuminating face...
every dream,every need,every possibity reflected there.

Engulfed in a trance of fantasies together,
oblivious to a life outside our creation;
filled with the power of a god!
Creator of worlds with only a touch.

Fear not neglect nor abandonment,
my commitment is eternally yours.
We shall live and perish together,
in this wasteland born mirage.

My nurishment,my child,my lover,
you fullfill all things...
completing me as we escape reality;
linked in mind and insane bliss.

Author notes

Gaming when it goes to far can result in the lost of family,jobs and in some cases death.

  • this rings true for so many...you have uncovered a truth that many would rather leave hidden...I'm a true believer that it is our secrets that keep us sick...thanks for sharing this...peace and light, Kendal

    yes

    I think gaming CAN go too far. It can become addictive with some people. As with any addiction it tricks the mind into thinking you can't live with out it...It becomes first priority.

      Thanks much for understanding the addiction of gaming that I tried to get across in this poem. That it can go too far!

      Thanks much for commenting on this poem... this one was very serious and close to home to me. It's alright to escape from real life for awhile but when it becomes your whole world it's a problem. I wrote another poem on this subject it's called... Sign In... Sign Out.

      Gateway Lovers was wrote one night as I was once again watching my husband spending all his spare time playing a game! I realised I was jealous of his gaming just as if it was another woman stealing his time!

      Thanks again for taking the time to hear me and comment. Sometimes the people you never meet can be your best friend!

      Thanks for your great comment...some people do lose themselves...alot of people who have been addicted to some kind of drugs have the tendency to get addicted to these games also!! Anything can become addictive if it effects being able to live your life!!

      Thanks my friend

    'Creator of worlds with only a touch.' I love this line!
    I have to agree that computers really can go too far, they contribute to so much violence.
    For a poem about a comupter this was rather sensual. Unexpected as well, didn't even realize it was a computer you were talking about until I saw the author notes. I probably could have put two and two together but computer was not number one on my lis of ideas as to what this poem could be about, lol. XD
    Excellent job, this really gives you something to think about.

      Thanks for commenting! I meant for this poem to be sensual...as some people spend more time gaming than in RL...it's like the computor is their lover.

      Thanks for reading
