Throngs were absent
hallways soul-emptied
evicted even lament
Day had slowly drowned
after some strange mystery
yielded dark to confound
The crows gathered
hungry for rotten flesh
and tasted silence rather
than still bodies fresh
Hell appeared occupied
on hiatus elsewhere
perhaps it was implied
evident by lack of air
Dead dreams never squeal
in purgatories of void
even in shadows revealed
doubt with light is destroyed

Oh my goodness what a write
You have done an awesome job on this one and it gave me chills indeed it did

-
Excellent
Okay.
Forgive me.
I'm lazy!!
Just had a 2-hour nap...LoL.
But...I read it.
I liked it.
I think you should win.
Your vocab was nice too--scholarly enough not to be pretentious, but not so scholarly that I could hit you for being patronizing.

Oh those last lines..when we doubt we only ever see the darkness. I can feel this bro, have even done it but can't say I stay there for long

-
