Love at Sea

He sailed away with promise to return.
'See you in the mornin' dear love.'

My heart fled with him,

not wanting him to go....
I stayed in the sand, contemplating,
recalling his soft touches and gentle kisses.

I wished it were he surrounding me,

rather than my sinking anchor of sadness.

I lay waiting for a taste of him,

hoping the breeze would carry his scent.

Now, I have only his waving goodbyes,

carrying his promise of return,

as I sit here on earth's sanded diamond.

I hope he comes back but at least your waiting is happening in a really beautiful setting.

Very romantic expression. It tells a story in each line. The sinking anker of sadness is a perfect line. Such a feeling.
