There's a very large elephant
in sunny rhyme town.
Slowtolearn the pachyderm,
with an upside down frown.
Sitting in the park
on a white picket fence;
We tried to talk to him
but he made no sense.
We warned him not to sit
on the fence of spikes.
It soon would hurt!
Being on those pikes.
But he didn't listen,
nor did he care.
Off in the distance
he continued to stare.
It started to hurt him,
we were able to see!
(though at first it seemed
that he needed to pee!)
He became restless,
his smile started to change,
and all in all
it looked quite strange.
when suddenly he jumped,
straight into the air!
Flying over the town,
haunted house and the fair
He cleared the fields,
mountains and clouds.
Till he was lost,
in the hazy shroud.
He landed with a thud,
beyond what we could see.
Causing the land to shake,
and tidal waves at sea!
So loud that it was!
we could hear it in town!
and that was slowtolearn the pachyderm
with an upside down frown!

This was delightful. I love the way you wrote this piece. Can't say that many of them pachyderms take much notice of anything, hey! lol!!!!! A great piece of work and a top sense of humour. This was a pleasure to read. Keep up the work, mate!

LOL i liked this because, while humourous poems don't always appeal to me, i could see it set as a childrens poem story book with illustrations and what not; perhaps you could give that a go at getting it out there? its a great idea!
Congrats on the win, too! -
ok
you had me at the title, a little awkward, but it was pretty good for the most part -
