Innocence

Laying on the park bench
torn up shoes
dirt on his face
  shattered teeth

closing his eyes
  remembering
the days of his youth
  school houses
Betty Joe
and Susy Lue

jump ropes and ice cream trucks
running through the meadows..
  skipping rocks on the waters

"Get a job!"
  awakens his fantasy.

He roles over
his heart is again warmed
  in his dreams

  remembering his youth

Youth and the magic in what we did is very sweet.
For me this is an excellent poem of gone by days.
    Simply a lovely poem.
