special Yesterday
plays a fiddle with her tooth
mistaking the roar of complaints
for applause,
her flip-book life
flying happily by her face like a one-car train
to nowhere.
Soon happens into the room
spilling himself
in little liquid moments
that last forever.
awfully wretched stains
seep into the hardwood floors
and mock him from the Future's lap
purring indefinitely
like the heart of a clockwork motor.
he sighs
and i think I hear the wind blow
fleeting towards Tomorrow
like a day
that never comes.

Time lunging backwards and forwards
counting the measure of orbits and spins
Is it an end that it all moves towards
or is it a time when eternity begins

Your personifications, metaphors, and similes are all wonderfully novel. The way that you convey the trivial-ness of "Yesterday" is beautiful and so utterly effective. I must confess, I don't know the interpretation that you were going for with the poem (esp. the stains), but the way I read it, I liked it. It definitely struck a chord even though I'm not sure which one.

to be honest this is one of the hardest poems i have read of yours for me to understand, but i tried to and i re read it three times.. but i must say that some of the lines in here are more than deep, and i just really like them alot... sooo..give me a call greg and tell me if i am right: somebody else has got something out of life appearing to be better, causing him to only think of what might be ahead in his life but he only see's misfortune, and doubt is casting over him???
maybe its just a simple reaction your poem is talking about, a reaction to the sight of anothers happiness??..or it could be the percpective of a girl of a man coming home at that moment that she is living with and she is unhappy with him, while her life is good, but then he gets in the way..
