Capsuled pixel fairy tale
Dilated pupils will tell all
A gruesome short story of a romance with suicide
A binge that could last a lifetime
...but it just feels so damn good...
Ivory skin with a soft blue hue
A complacent stare with the cherry of her cigarette
burned so low the sting hits her lips
no, no she can't feel a thing
...just the ache in her heart of a love long lost...
Shadows play against her walls
the script of her lovers last words
the touch of his fingers, the scent of his skin
The feeling it left as his life slipped away
Bite the belt and push in deep
The needle penetrates the vein
and in that instant... so so so fast
She is... she is...
..I am God.. I am the Antichrist.. I am..
The floor feels familiar beneath her bare skin
the fringe of the carpet ripping at her elbows
searching, searching for something worth finding
Something to save her from the wrenching in her stomach
Gouged out eyes see nothing of the hell she's caused
the scratches on her arms go only needle deep
Voices screaming only self-mutilating thoughts
and she's drowning in her own vomit again
..This is nothing.. let me feel..
This is it
Her moment in the spotlight
and in those final seconds
she screams... silence.
..A dirge for her, the doubly dead, in that she died so young..
Author notes
I guess this could fit with option one, well, maybe, but mainly it's option 4.
The title and last line come from Edgar Allen Poe's Lenore.
I hope you enjoyed it.

Congrats on the trophy. Interesting piece... I tried to find a favorite spot of poetic device or linguistic obscurity... a turn of a phrase, perhaps, to latch on to and quote and say "here's my favorite passage" but the poem's strength isn't in device so much as it is in the plot of the story. Don't worry about polishing the trophy, gold doesn't tarnish

something dark and special about this poem..
some parts didn't fit together but still good job.

I absolutely love this, doll. It's so beautifully tragic and wonderfully written. This is gorgeous and I adore it. It's so sad and the emotions are so vividly expressed that I can feel them so well and I can relate to parts of this. This is such an amazing and brilliant write. Thanks so much for entering.
