(verse1)
Well ya feel like dirt,
'cause all you do is work,
and you never take the time to play
well don't worry now
Because we've all figured out
how to put our 'lil problem at bay
(verse2)
Put up the 'ole red tent
And we'll hold a big event
We'll invite everybody around
So big or small,
come one, come all
To the Chesterfield county fair ground
(chorus)
Hell yeah, the fair's in town
So put your hands up and
let your guard down
Drink 'till ya dance,
and dance 'till ya sing,
'cause tonight we won't worry 'bout anything!
Take your little sweetie on the ferris wheel
hold her real close just so she can feel
the warmth of your hug against the cool fall breeze
yeah, the fair's here,
oh won't ya take us mama, please!
(verse3)
As the sun starts settin',
oh we'll start forgettin'
'bout the troubles we face every day,
We're livin' for now,
And since we know how,
We can make this feelin' always stay
(repeat chorus)
(closing)
'Cause when Monday rolls around
This old fairground
will belong once again to the weeds.

Good luck
Well written lyrics.
Would that be the Chesterfield, VA fair now would it? Grew up in Richmond but left 10 years ago for the Shenandoah valley. Love it here.

hmmm i knew there HAD to be some subconcious reason why i randomly picked "chesterfield" as the name
i spent my summers near smith mountain lake. my uncle had a beautiful house right on the lake and our whole family would just go for 10 days, we had so much fun!

I like how this song starts out talking about troubles, but as I went on reading I completely forgot about those troubles just as the characters in your song did. I also like how the ending returns to the original thought and puts things in perspective. Great job!
