Love and hate are very different
and quite opposite from one another.
BUT, to truly hate someone,
you must have loved him at one time,
for hate grows best
in the neglected garden
of love gone bad.

very true and yes this is the case. Before Hate, must come some emotion. Not always love but it can also be total lack of interest. No matter what it gives one the chance to decide on ones feelings.
Great work.

Wow, this poem really made me think. Especially the part about having to love someone in order to hate them. I'm not sure I completely agree with the message of the poem, but I do think that in order to hate someone, first you would have to know them really well. I also liked the part of the neglected garden. It made me think of the garden of adam and eve. I guess you could say there are some bad apples in every garden. Really bad pun warning.

So true.
so true it kinda scares me -
I live in the shadows
Cast by she who once
Blighted my life,
Yet I promise
You no bitter twist,
For though the flames
Of love no longer burn
My memorises shine
And linger like glow
Embers to warm
My weary heart.

Nicely phrased into a poem.

Very insightful and true in many cases.
Smart entry!
