October burning

I scream at the pumpkins,
smashing October into bits,
watching the dead leaves rot.
and letting the cold make its way to my chest.
[you left my memory burning in the fire]

this candy isnt sweet,
you're taste consumed my tongue.
posioned my lips and paralyzed my once
breathing lungs.

the sky won't stop screaming,
sending the rain,
trying to make me wash away.
[for good]
but my feet have rooted to this spot
where the trees are bare,
and leave me out in the open.

what happened to the breeze,
that made me float with every word
that came from your mouth?
made me drift from reality,
and burst through the atmosphere.

i've sky rocketed down,
  now i belong here.
with my ankles submerged in dirt,
and my knees aching to fall.

these ghost haunt me daily.
[its not just a nightmare anymore]
