When I closed my eyes just a few minutes ago
I saw the same old dad I'd know for years.
A dad of warmth, tenderness, and compassion.
A dad that took the time to understand me.
Suddenly you were gone from my eyes,
And I was left here without you.
But I was left with the memory of having known you,
And learned your wisdom
That fills my tears.
