My Beautiful Baby Girl

With each tear drop
That falls from my eye
I raise to look
Up to the sky

I know my beautiful girl
Is sitting up there
Wondering why
“Mommy isn’t here”

Each day I think
Of how things should be
Yet you sit up in heaven
Taken away from me

You weren’t ready
To come into this world
At least that is what they said
But you will always be “my special girl”

And in heaven
You shall sit and wait
Mommy will be there
But I might be late

So baby girl
Look down on me
Know your daddy and I love you
And that will always be

No, I've never lost a child... it was just something that popped in my head so I decided to write about it!

    Sadly beautiful

I was relieved to read this was fiction

You expressed these deep emotions so sincerely, and from your heart

wow. this was so vivid i thought i was real as well. i have two children and the first was almost didn't make it after being born. she was too early. but she is five and a half now. and my second one is 6 and a half months. this is a great poem. i felt so bad when i was reading it. im glad that it is fiction. it's awful when things like this happen though. Thanks so much for sharing

Actually this is completely fiction. I have never been pregnant or anything like that! Glad that it touched you the way that it did though! Thanks for the comment. *sonya*

You conveyed the emotions felt, the sadness, the lonelyness, wonderfully. I felt like I could see you, looking up to your baby girl, your baby girl looking down to you with angels all around her, protecting her. The imagery is great.

This is really sad, but it is beautiful in its own way. Is it about anyone close to you or you, or did you just feel inspired? Either way, its really nice, peaceful in a solemn way, thanks for sharing.

moving, its really sad but beautiful as well. i guess this is what mothers who have lost their babies must feel like, its not something i've been through so i guess i can't know, but i thihnk this is exactly what i would feel like. you have a good talent for putting yourself in other peoples shoes, expressing how you imagine they must feel beautifully. the idea of the little girl watching over her mother was beautiful, lovely write
