Musings

What happens when the daughters of Mnemosyne and Zeus take flight?

Do they soar to lofty peaks, abandoning their human charges?

Do they dance and sing from sunset to first morning light?

Do the muses float along quiet rivers in flower-decked barges?

Do the fair maidens who inspire us recline in woodland bowers?

Could they be tumbling down the pristine snows of alpine reaches?

Are they gazing down upon us from their ancient towers?

Or, maybe shedding togas on secluded beaches!

Now that's a thought, "dance and sing from sunset to first morning light." Maybe they have not fled us, but are just too exhausted from playing to notice our frantic calls!
Very nice imagery, reminiscent of The Lady of Shallot barge and a Keats 'Ode to a Nightengale' bower. Then a faster paced Winter Olympic race "down the pristine snows of alpine reaches!"
Ancient towers is also strong contrast to a more youthful and lively "shedding togas on secluded beaches." Perhaps Muses come in all types and ages, in counterpoint or comfortable companionship!
    Thank you for your entry!

Good questions for the inspiration of the poets. Their temple for inspiration leaves nothing holy, poet, artist and those who crave creativity paint, write without limits to all subjects and regard how far to lower lofty prose. Lovely work for the prompt, the poetic craft techniques hold the readers atttention with a smile.

      Thank you, Chief....

I appreciate the kind words. What an interesting prompt we were provided. It is fun to ponder the lives of our muses when they are not nudging us to produce.
