Yes,
I have them.
I have your titles,
the ones you give me just because.
Just because of where I'm from,
and where I'm not.
I have your titles.
Just because of who I am,
and who I'm not.
I have them and know them by heart.
But you don't know me,
yet your titles of words make me.
Your titles make me,
before I can make myself.
This kid can't get a title for going to college?
No,
this kid gets the most likely to dropout title,
but I'm still in school and about graduate in top honors.
This kid can't get a successful job or career title?
No,
this kid gets the most likely to be in prison,
but I'm going to med school and have two jobs already.
Yes,
theres more of your titles
but I care less of them.
You and your titles won't break me,
I may fall a few but I'll get back up.
I have to prove you worng,
you and your titles.

Has been a while since you've written- I also have not written since before Christmas. Guess we both need to get on the bit. Titles can mean much to some, and not so much to others. Book learning is not the same as living life's experiences.
Keep in touch..

Thank you for your entry
Another way to think of this is sterotypes. Society wants to lump everyone into categories. And when we don't conform to that sterotype then we are strange and unusual. Keep moving toward your goals and don't let anyone's apathy breed your ignorance.
I encourage you to keep writing to read and comment.
God Bless
Tammy
