look at me
my brown hair and eyes
my black skin
my size 12
my 5 foot 1 inch stature
beyond this
lies a dusty unharmed heart
and lungs that breath in the contaminated jersey air
beyond that
wooden boards
wrapped in yellow tape
marking the real me
daring you to enter
Beyond that
stands 2 doors
one containing something so beautiful
a pisces who floats past this world called earth
to a land of love and laughter
where fanatasies are to flawless to reality.
But the other door
contains something to depressing too let out.
A little girl hidden in a dark room
exiled there when life forced her to grow up at a young age.
She applauds her mother for being the strong woman she is
yets screams at her father for being such a cheating, lying dead beat father
and cries for herself because of the love no man has shown her
and the stupid sterotypes shes forced to live by.
All this creates a person
who has learned more lessons than most
and has more levels than the empire state buliding.
question is: Will you be able to survive all levels and understand them? Or fail and land back at the fake front door?

Are you sure you don't have a gemini influence in there somewhere? I could absolutely relate to the "2 doors". I think people would be apt to finding more happiness if they could let go of stereotypes and the fear of what others think...and a host of other things....and just see people for who they really are. I also think that a lot of people get so caught up in their own selves that they don't put forth the effort to learn the depths of another person. Anway, I thank you for your entry.

Such a beautiful and perfectly poetic deconstruction and composition of everything you. I felt like I'd known you for ages after reading this because your writing makes vivid your face and body, but also the things beyond that.
Congratulations and good luck in the contest.

This is so beautiful and just love how completely honest it is. Just try and see the beauty in yourself, and all around you. It's there, you just have to look.

In this line:
"contains something to depressing to let out."
It should be:
"contains something too depressing to let out."
Other than that, this piece very well represents the person you are. Or at least the way that you like to present yourself. Good wording, and good story telling. Good job!
