Evil Woman

Missing image
Widow's web, tangled deceit,
smuggness carefully veiled.
Victorious in her quest,
where all the others failed.

Conniving in dasterly deed,
wiled her way into his heart.
Meals laced with arsenic,
soon after he would depart.

The root of all evil is money,
many don't play by the rules.
Some will kill just to have it,
others willingly play the fool.

Widow played the game well,
a fool and his money parted,
The devil now owns her soul,
pretends to be broken hearted.

Evil should not be triumphant,
but no one said life was fair.
Ugliness was hidden by beauty,
now only death fills the air.

    Fantastic

WOW!! You did a Amazing job with this prompt. ahh the widow who's after the money. greed isn't a nice thing, nor is someone who kills for it. this poem speaks volumes. there are people out there just like this, which is really sad that it occurs.
your rhyme is flawless and the words just flow right off the tongue. You did an Outstanding job with this poem

    good luck in the contest

This is so true to life and the rhyme completes the wonderful flow. I like the movement as stanza take the reader into a cold heart where death brings more wealth. The widow willing to sell a soul to the devil for gain, will lose as money is a short term for God's judgement.

The depth in this, and the reality hiding in the words are absolutely brillant; Your words are like a dark rainbow bursting suddenly out of the sky to reveal the ugliness beneath

    Masterful poem!
    Best of luck!

    Stay safe
    Love to you

    Great surrealism!!!

Beautiful imagery belies the evil within this message of deception and cold-heartedness. One day, Black Widow shall meet her match in the depths below... Will her blood-tainted money then save her soul?!!? Best of luck in this contest, you have a winner here!!! Peace, Cyn

    Wise words

Words to heed fellow poets as the web that we weave becomes a death trap. Beware and listen to the words of this wise poet.. Lol Well done Sandy and perfect for the pic.
