I had waited for you for a long time.
Did you know I was there?
Could you here me?
When you came into my life,
It was perfect, you were perfect.
I had never felt this love before.
I never will again.
Your tiny hand, just the right size,
to grip my finger.
Blue, unfocused eyes.
Perfect!
You didn't cry.
How still you lay.
I had never loved before that day.
"One hour", I heard them say.
I smiled and smiled.
I rocked you gently.
So tiny.
I sang you a lullaby
As I touched your tiny feet.
I carried on singing,
Even as I felt your last heartbeat.
Untouched by the world you entered,
Untouched you should leave.
One moment of true love.
Perfect!
