Steps towards Sunlight by Rhyming Cliches

now the song of Love is reaching
deep into a velvet night
and it finds the muffled weeping
of a soul tired of flight
and the heart forever yearning
to be freed from endless fright
is held close in gentle meeting
of eye's sight and inner Light

such the moment not withholding
hope from those in need of day
nourished tree by roots is feeding
at the river's gentle tray
and the steps forever leading
to the autumn of decay
instigate new life by seeding
flowers for eternal stay

    I think we have our course, rough ideas of enlightenment...trying to explain what we'd like to gather from the world, and what we imagine is possible. Fantasy is an abstraction of that essence. Full of cliche and romance. The truth though has a little dirt on it. And we should be grateful for those imperfections as well. Some would say they are even the secret. By themselves though...they never get us closer.
    They are only a byproduct of our humanity.
