A double mind cuts like
a paring knife from
the stomach to the back
of a fearful heart;
cruelty is worse than
being bludgeoned,
for whatever love given
it is erased by the blade,
your words.

Deceptiveness can indeed cut like a knife clear through the soul.A paring knife wittling through provides more dramatic effect than would a rapier.I like the implication of the cut voiding all truth making it a lie. Very powerful verse well composed.

we are truly synchronized in spirit ... How bitterly the war of words when it is poisoned with cruelty ... And I totally agree with the sentiments: words can kill ... emotions, and even bodies.
Your words, too, cut like a blade, but it is the two-sided Sword of beautiful Truth.

How eloquently you have stated this. WORDS. They can be devastatingly cruel and cut up your psyche so badly that it can never be repaired. I do believe that love and harmful words can not co-exist. ~ Joyce
