Wonderland

To wonderland my dreamy thoughts fly,
With yearning wings to escape real life.
Hovering across immaculate pearly oceans:
Home to sea creatures and mermaids devoid of strife.

And harmonious melodies of winds and skies
Like beautiful blankets stretch out to thaw hampered hearts.
The rainbow humbly swanks its rich stripes
Like a peacock’s that appear on fresh morning starts.

Blooming flowers and mistletoes of love
Like heart shaped bubbles flourish in the sky.
And lovebirds cheerfully chant their songs,
Songs that soften the hardest mind and cease any cry.

Fairies flicker and sprinkle glittering dust
Like magical powder upon people who in dreams trust.
Accompanied also by colourful butterflies
That their beauty imprint in the skies turned to rust.

And on the glorious expanse of greenery,
Bushes, budding primroses and trees derive,
Brightening the world’s creations.
Everything is profoundly alive.

With dramatic dragons that exhale fire out of pride,
Breathtaking unicorns like figures of divinity,
And a striking phoenix whose tears heal deep wounds.
All a spectacular and just unity.

Mammals join too in order to make peace,
What a pleasant sight! Zebras and lions that
Both enemies and predators are, shaking hands in agreement,
Not a tiny bit fearful ‘cause in this world, exists no room for that.

Majestic centaurs live there to valiantly protect,
Against lethal serpents and starving crocodiles each inhabitant.
The boundless power always conquers,
No one can defeat these unbreakable forces, they just can’t!

This is the heaven I see,
A jukebox of mystery outside my castle windowpane,
The castle standing like a crown on the humongous hill.
Who knows, someday you too might join wonderland - my lane!

I think that what makes it a winner to me is that I really felt this poem and I really was driven by fantasy and fascination towards what is surreal - my wonderland (probably out of a deep desire for that world to exist)

Something about me: I've been writing for almost a year now but I haven't managed to write a lot 'cause of time restriction (I'm quite busy)
My favourite film is Harry Potter (all of them XD)

    Some of the lines are a bit long, but I like the rhyme and the beautiful descriptions. This has to be my favorite stanza:
    "And harmonious melodies of winds and skies
    Like beautiful blankets stretch out to thaw hampered hearts.
    The rainbow humbly swanks its rich stripes
    Like a peacock’s that appear on fresh morning starts."
