Kissing is like
sleeping with your eyes
wide open: you are there but
just touching the surface.
[How do I break away?
how do i free myself?
i've been mesmirized by the way
his lips graze mine softly]
Kissing is like falling
into the ope arms of passion
and listening to the seductive
voice of lust.
[Fantasy fights for
a spot with reality.
where is my self-control?
I kept it on the tip of his
tongue and fed it into his mouth.]
Kissing is like trying to
quel a never ending hunger
you can only be satiated
if you continue.
[I feel the world slipping away
I sink into a sea of oblivion]
What is a kiss?
a kiss is the fusing of
two hearts
two minds and
two souls
to create
passion and forgotten love.

Wow. Just. Wow. I love the interplay of the parenthetical verses with the rest of the poem. It's good to be reminded of the subtle subtexts that are going on in situations that the outside viewer might never be aware of. This an awesome write. Thanks for entering and good luck in the contest!
