Glass Streets

                Sheaths of crystal droplets
                singing over gray skies in
                dreary cities; like crashing
                waves on jagged rocks, ocean
                spray on your heels as you
                walk away.

                Smiles wide with inspiration
                as the rain falls steadily across
                glass streets- sorrow drips from
                eager fountains, spilled hues
                wash through empty alleyways.

                Rainbows poured on concrete refractions
                of celestial stairways into feathered
                clouds; careful silver descendants of
                the stars litter the grass in elegant
                dew-

                I caught spinning pearls in my bare palms;
                saved them in back pockets for a sun-streaked day...
