When day's gone by,
and night's drawn in;
when most are
bound to sleep.
I'll lay a while
remembering you;
safe, in my dreams to keep.
Where none will know,
those saultry times;
our souls will wander free;
'till death will bring us
close again,
and leave just you and me.
and night's drawn in;
when most are
bound to sleep.
I'll lay a while
remembering you;
safe, in my dreams to keep.
Where none will know,
those saultry times;
our souls will wander free;
'till death will bring us
close again,
and leave just you and me.

Nice Poem
A sad and caring tribute to a lost and loved one
echoes memories of a similar nature to most of us.
but don't despair one day you'll be reunited in
Summerland...George...

This is a very heartwarming write as it does move us all who have lost our father's. Mine has been gone for way over 40 years and I still miss and think of him and even now, still shed a tear.

wow
Neat poem, I don't think I read something like this and you keep it short and sweet. Its kind of like your looking in someones eyes and saying your poem. -
Very touching. The silence of the night gives us time to remember and be with those that have gone but not left our lives. They remain alive in our memories.

This hits a bit close to home for me, as this past Monday, the 4 of Jan. was the anniversary of my dad's passing... I miss him more than words can say...

I really liked this a lot
Many poems aren't as good without the explanatory note but this works in different ways with and without that that make it even better
Its well worded and the length is perfect
good flow and subtle rhyme
all together well done

This poem is explaining how I feel at night so well, but I must admit I am such a coward to remember and I fear the dreams the night may bring.
Thank you for taking the time to write this, many blessings
