Upon The Sand

Waves peak in crescents of white,
crashing upon barrier dunes.
Salt water beads upon my nakedness,
as I lay stretched upon the sand.

Winds murmur low, sirens temptress call,
alluring ancient mariners to succumb.
A sensual rush as my mind remembers,
once you had lay beside me.

Beads of sweat that poured endlessly,
consumed by summer's passion.
First days of autumn arouse all senses,
how I long for your touch.

How you held me close and whispered,
words of sweet surrender echo.
How the beating sun increased the warmth,
as you filled me with your pleasure.

Upon the beach I ache for you once more,
my longing intensifies.
Like the anicent mariners, I succumb,
pleasure flows as crescent waves peak.

Very sensual and erotic but taseful and poetic - not at all explicit which is nice. Its one of the best ways to write a poem like this. It flowed together so pleasantly it was a pleasure in itself to read. As always you do an amazing with your poetry

    Hope your well!
    Jordanne

I personally wouldn't think that the memory of laying upon the sand naked would be comforting. I would rather be in the water and perhaps this is where we are drawn...Nonetheless this write takes you to a special place, a special memory....imparts the longing, aching feeling of a lost love.

    Thanks for sharing.

What a lovely write. The reader is taken into the water as lover waits for the others return. Still wrapped in memories warm and complete. Satisfaction fills the longing that grows as waves peak flow. The intensity grows through each stanza as loves memories glow.
