The moon is face down
in a ditch on the hill
where a farmer stands nailed to a tree
The sun is unstable
it peers through the leaves
and observes as the scarecrows steal wheat

The picture you painted for me is excellent,it has a dark feel to it somehow, and the shortness makes it feel quite vulnerable, It kind of instills the eeriness of an autumn night, very well written thanks for sharing littlefishone

hmm, I like this seasonal observation - it's fitting with old Samhain in sight. I wondered if you'd ever seen the Nicholas Cage remake of the Wicker Man.

Is this unfinished or just the title?
Cause it could be finished and be quite complete.
Either way I like it much. The coolest of imagery.

i really like this... great visuals and meter. I especially loved the impact of "farmer stands nailed to a tree" ... best line in it for me :-)
nicely done,

Interesting take on natural landscapes. This swims on the darkened side in tone.
Inventive composition I enjoyed with an eerie feel brought about in verse.
Best of luck in the comp.
