Sudden down-pour
in the summer heat,
stirring dust-devils
at my feet.
Trickling, tickling,
moistening skin,
rain comes out
and the sun goes in.
I love the feel
of summer rain,
it eases heat
and cools the brain.
When water cascades
from the sky,
some folks are sad--
but not this boy.

I don't hear kids sing "Rain rain go away..." anymore. Nor do I see them jumping in puddles with their golashes and school bus yello parkas... Lovely write, bro. Good luck.

You don't like humour, and you do like rain. Ah well. Just as well you like poetry, then, isn't it!

I love the rain too, it's just as well living in England

A lovely poem touching on all the good things and brightening a very grey day here.
All the best in the contest

Excellent !!!
I love rain. Do not like to drive in it. But the Great Northwest rain is a constant thing and I moved here to enjoy the creative mood it brings. Great poem !
