Would You?

Would you stand up for your beliefs?
Even if it means death?
So many martyr's so many innocent deaths...
All because we have our beliefs,
And the radicals are the ones worth fearing.
It is those ones that get noticed,
That inspire you to have that strong of faith.

Would you stand up for your beliefs?
If you could no long find reasoning with the death master?
As they put the gun to your friends head,
Would you still stand up for your beliefs?
When it was no longer about you?
When the fates changed on who the real martyr is?
Knowing that entire time you choose whether they live or die.

Could you be so strong in your belief to watch your friend,
Crumple to the floor taking their last breath.
Perhaps a miracle would happen and they would be spared,
But that's a slim chance,
And you would have to live with that fact forever.
That you wagered a friends life, based on your belief.
Would you?
Could you?
Dare you?

Author notes

That thought really just struck me as you think oh how strong your beliefs is in something mostly this would be more about God, but when it involves a third party could you really still say you believe in Him... i'm not sure if i could...
