Monotony in empty blankets
taking wing inside my darkened
eye-lids; sleep shelters the
reality of walking down a shattered
sidewalk.
Days gone by like hours in
silken subways, smooth edges
milked down to paper-thin
paranoia- water trickles down
my chin and hollow laughter
claims the breeze.
Crown my head with golden
rope and enclose them in silver
slumbers; this weight is too
heavy on my aching shoulders-
pass it over on a freeway pillow
Author notes
I'm feeling tired. Too tired to deal with reality right now.
