Beautiful sky and graceful wind
Wraps around me as I stare out the window
Leaves float in the breeze, dancing to a quite song
Making up the moves as they go along
Clouds roll in to the sound of the thunder
As lightning flashes across the sky
Giving warning to all in plain sight
To enjoy the ride they’re about to go on
Hide in fear of what’s to come
Just down the road, across the field
Will determine your fate, take heed
The sky turns an eerie shade of green
A light yellow tints the grass
Eyes open and ears hear
The sight of it amazes all your senses
You can’t move, can’t think
You grip on to the threshold
As everything shakes, exploding around you
Closing your eyes, praying for your life
“I hope I make it through” runs through your head
Forever, it seems
But in a few seconds
Silence
Nothing is left to be found
Except for you holding on for dear life
Dropping to your feet
Saying “Amen” to be alive
The destruction sets in
“What am I going to do?”
Don’t mess with Mother Nature
She’ll tear you apart with just one burst
Give her thanks and your promise
Save yourself from her wrath
Do no wrong and you shall be safe
