How long have you been standing there like that?
Did your lover walk away and leave you flat?
Well, he must’ve lost his mind to have left you there behind
and don’t tell me it’s because he thinks you’re fat !!
Whatever cause I think it’s such a waste
that he’s evidently left you in great haste.
He must be raving mad to have missed the chance he had
when the joys of love are clearly there to taste.
If you’re looking for another feller, I’m
available and still within my prime.
With my utmost skill and strength, I will go to any length
to ensure that we both have a happy time!
Though you may think I’m comparatively old,
I can still see you don’t catch your death of cold!

He was a Commander of the Legion of Honour and a member of the Institut de France. He was a close collaborator of both William Bouguereau and Alexandre Cabanel.

You are certainly valiant, ‘offering your services’ as you do to this poor, naked creature. She does seem rather put out about something. Amusing and witty take on the picture.

Hah! A discreet drape would have helped
the artist's model! She surely would have
appreciated your humor!

Dear Max
Oh my, a hilarious version of the painting of Chloe.
I bet the DOM would've liked to have had his way with her. It makes me wonder what she's thinking as she stands there naked as a jay bird.Maybe she was ignoring him LOL.Great poem my dear friend.
