Even the darkness cannot hide
the acts of our dark activities...
the filth blends better out of sight
lightless places breed these oddities.
We become
the shadows void of light.
When the suns dial grows long
black veins slither across surface
eyes widen with pupils dawn
as the cold well known seeps to flourish.
You hear
whispers and guttural groans.
Nocturnal insects hover
wearing human faces...and smiles
using the dark for cover
dressed in the costume of a child.
Innocence
the consuming monster.
The spreading black of cavity
a pool for thoughts of the horrid kind
we who mirror this entity
even the darkness cannot hide
the acts
of our dark activities.

'Nocturnal insects hover
wearing human faces'
this reminds me of the movie Mimic, or The Cave.
I like your skill Mancini.
How come I've not bumped into you before?
Nice job.

Very dark imagery. It is perfect for the poem. Well done.
Loved the lines:
The spreading black of cavity
a pool for thoughts of the horrid kind
we who mirror this entity
even the darkness cannot hide
the acts
of our dark activities.
